We're a network of democracy advocates, political change-makers, and gender equality advocates. We create and support civic leadership, public service, politics, peace and human rights, issue advocacy, the arts and social entrepreneurship programs with a focus on increasing women and BIPOC representation in politics and civic life.
Intwari Women
Rwanda
Intwari means courageous in Kinyarwanda. This is a pilot project of Global GAIN and the Akilah Institute. We are engaging graduates or soon-to-be graduates in a unique internship focused on teaching communications, social media, fundraising and development, personal leadership, political leadership, advocacy, civic engagement, gender equity globally. Our first cohort has committed to this work for a year. All Global GAIN social media accounts are managed by members of the Intwari Women cohort.

Monique Kabugho Murandya is a political organizer and leader. She founded DRC HOME, a place for displaced, orphaned, and otherwise abandoned women and children in Beni, Congo.
