Country of a Thousand Solutions
The Rwandan Genocide is a marker in everyone’s life. No one we met was untouched and the phrase “before Genocide” and “after Genocide” are commone when discussing the changes that have occurred over time – from culture to family to politics. Such tragedy could easily define a person, but those we met do not allow that. Instead they focused on educating, embracing and empowering those around them to never forget and build a better nation.
“Before genocide we were the country of a thousand hills, after the genocide we were the country of a thousand hills and a thousand problems. Now we hope to be the country of a thousand hills and a thousand solutions.” – D’Artagnan Habintwali
